Where we play outside. 

We’re taking theSC’s cookwares out of the studio for a big spring pot-luck, and we’re looking for more hands to turn up the heat !

— WaitWhat ? — 

A dozen songs from our house repertoire, reworked for the stage, to be performed in front of a live audience, and captured in UHD glory. Expect an assortment of funk, groove, blues, soul, Latin, and Afro rhythms, with a healthy helping of vocals (5 singers — all female, because why not?).
For this occasion and potential future collaborations, we’re looking for reinforcements, especially brass and percussion performeresses, to crank up the noise that gets people moving.

— Whosit we seek  — 

— Blowers: 

• Sousaphone/tuba
• Euphonium and saxhorns, trombones (of all kinds, including pistoneers) 
• Saxes (baritone, alto, etc.) 
• Flugelhorn, bugle, French Horn,
• Trumpet, cornet, clarinet, baguette (?)

Crazy riffing/trilling skills not required, a swell mood and a good pocket is what we’re after. 
Already part of a brass section ? Reach out as a band — we’d love to collaborate!

— Pots and skin bangers & shakers: 

• Drummers and Percussionists: whether it’s drumset, congas, tablas, djembe, or darbouka, if you’ve got eclectic tastes and can groove, we dig you already !

— Other noise-making talents: 

If you play something not listed above, are not a diva or a shredder, clap on 2 and 4, and are intrigued by this project — don’t be coy and drop us a line !

Who with ? 

• 6 singers (complete)
• 1 bassist (complete)
• 1-2 guitarists (slide/solo/steel welcome)
• 4-6 brass players (some needed — could be more, if joining as a set)
• 1 drummer (welcome)
• 1-2 percussionists (welcome)
• 1-2 keyboard players (complete)

Where ? 

In Paris, both for rehearsals and the show. 

When & What ? 

• February 22–March 2, 2025: Boot camp to get to know each other, workshop the repertoire, and glue the band together.
• April 19–27, 2025: Full runs and dress rehearsals in live-like conditions, with sound and monitoring. Possibly a couple of run ins with a small audience.
• Early to mid-May 2025: Final show, soundcheck, dress rehearsal, and evening concert filmed and recorded in a unique and neat venue (exact date TBD). 

How much  ? 

In keeping with theSC SOP, this is a collaborative project. Rehearsals and shows aren’t paid gigs, but if we ever get out of the red, everyone will get to reap in the fat bounty. Don’t come for the moneys, though, we’re nowhere near breaking even this year.

Why ?

To produce a “live album” or 12 tracks on audio and video.
The resulting footage and tapes will be released in the months following the show, in connection with their studio versions.
