wtf?

— What’s a Collective, again ? Is you lot a bunch of dirty commies?
Well, it’s like a band, except there is no fixed cast of performers. People get together to create a song, and usually the same crew performs it. This allows for a cool mingling of pros and hobbyists, and part-timers with lifers. We also don’t impose any kind of exclusivity on participants, many of whom are involved in other musical projects besides theSC.
Also, we don’t ask people what their political preferences are, but we suspect some us may not be quite the pinko commie mutants you’d expect.
— Why the Frogspeak ? Haven’t they done enough ?
Many of theSC collectivistas are Frogs, or frog-adjacent and speak the language fluently if not natively, plus our home @LaBarne sits in FrogMetroCentral, aka Paris. So there.
— How much synth & samples vs true instruments do you use in your tracks ?
Does it matter if you can’t tell ?
Generally, we only use synth sounds/sampled sounds when we want something that rings different from acoustic/regular stuff, but we’re cool with models of analog keys.
— What with the lowercase “the” in theSC ?
It made you ask.
In truth, a capital The doesn’t make sense, because pronouns don’t matter much, but dropping it entirely meant ShakShuka Collective would acronymize to SC and that’s a bit nonspecific for our taste — TSC isn’t much better, btw.
theSC is memorable and looks kinda neat in many fonts, including Fette Mikado, and Special Elite, which we use quite a bit.
